Summer Sessions


ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

Studentsmay apply for admission at the freshman level from high school or transferfrom another college or university. The application filing period is November1-30 for enrollment in September of the following year. Applications foradmission are available at California high schools, community colleges andvia the internet at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions. Out-of-state students may obtain applications by contacting the UCLA Undergraduate Admissions Office. Financial Aid is available for eligible students who require assistance. 

Students are accepted into the department based upon evidence of creative talent and academic achievement. A portfolio of 8 - 10 images is required as well as a statement of interest and goals. Upon receipt of an application for admission, a supplemental questionnaire and detailed information concerning the portfolio requirement and statement of interest are sent to the prospective student.

Applicants can expect to receive details regarding the statement and portfolio in December via email. Guidelines also are available online. Screening activities occur in January and Feburary. Freshman applicants are notified in March; transfer applications are notifed in April.
