Support and advise the Chair of the Department of Art on a wide range of issues and projects, including course schedule planning, faculty meetings and program plans. Plan and coordinate public programs of the department – including student exhibitions, visiting artist lecture series and other special events. Manage the printed publicity materials, and the website for the department. Conduct research, undertake program analyses and generate reports as required. My name is Sean Redmond, and I am the editor in chief of fields, an Austin, Texas-based arts and culture journal printed twice yearly. We feature profiles and interviews of up-and-coming painters, poets, musicians, photographers, writers, illustrators, and other artists. We also publish short stories, poetry, essays, photography, painting, and other creative work. We are currently looking for submissions for our next issue, which will be released in September.

The UCLA Volunteer Center is seeking enthusiastic leaders to direct over 30 service projects across Greater Los Angeles. Alumni, staff, faculty, and continuing students are encouraged to register as Project Leaders or Task Captains, who contribute to the planning and completion of a Volunteer Day project and share their passion for service and information about future volunteering opportunities with new Bruins. The UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) has an opening for an undergraduate student researcher fluent in spoken and written Spanish to contribute to the research study, “Gender and Everyday Water Use in Los Angeles Households” (https://csw.ucla.edu/gender-everyday-water-use-los-angeles-households/). The study is part of the UCLA Sustainable Los Angeles Grand Challenge grant program and examines how gender shapes the way that people use, value, and save water on an everyday basis. Painter needed for Custom Painting

I am looking to hire a Painter to custom paint 2 photo images that I recently posed for on the beautiful beaches of Miami, FL.

My idea vision is for these paintings to be in canvas art or come to life realistic paintings. I am willing to compensate and I would like to have these paintings by the end of July or sooner. Or, early August.

Witness, the literary journal published by the Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, is seeking photo essay submissions for its “Abandon” issue, which appears in print in spring 2018. The deadline for submissions is September 1.

Each submission should include at least 8 images. Payment for the cover photo and essay set is $400 and the submission fee is $5. Founded in 2000, the conference offers an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of the role of the arts in society. It is a place for critical engagement, examination and experimentation, developing ideas that connect the arts to their contexts in the world—on stage, in studios and theaters, in classrooms, in museums and galleries, on the streets, and in communities.

Call for Entries – Greater Los Angeles Master of Fine Art Exhibition (GLAMFA) 2018

The Fine Arts Roundtable (FAR), a collective of Cal State University Long Beach MFA and MA students, present the 12th annual GLAMFA (Greater Los Angeles Master of Fine Arts) Exhibition. GLAMFA, as a representation of the next wave of contemporary artists, features the works of MFA and MA students from the greater Los Angeles area and is curated by CSULB students.
