Doug Harvey MFA '94 curated Aspects of Mel's Hole: Artists Respond to a Paranormal Land Event Occurring in Radiospace at Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, Sept 6-Oct 19, 2008. He is also the subject of a multidisciplinary survey, Untidy: The Worlds of Doug Harvey, at Los Angeles Valley College Art Gallery, Oct 15-Nov 26, 2008.

M.A. Peers MFA '94 had a solo show of paintings and works on paper at Rosamund Felsen Gallery, Santa Monica, May 10-June 7, 2008.

Michael Oliveri MFA'95, art professor at the University of Georgia and Chair of the Digital Media Program, exhibited his photo series inner space, April 11-June 4, 2008.

Trisha Donnelly BA '96 and Sharon Hayes MFA '03 are participating in the Yokohama Triennale 2008, Time Crevasse, Sept 13-Nov 30, 2008 in Yokohama, Japan.

Khiang Hei MFA '96 is working on a photography project to mark the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Students Protest of 1989 and hopes to show it around the world.

Naotaka Hiro BA '97 had a solo exhibition at The Box gallery in Chinatown Los Angeles, May 10-June 7, 2008.

JP Munro BA '97, Jon Pylypchuk MFA '01, and Tia Pulitzer MFA '06 had work in the group exhibition, Emerson vs. Nietzsche at the China Art Objects Galleries, Cottage Home Space, Sept 12-Oct 4, 2008.

David Korty MFA '98 has an exhibition of his paintings at Michael Kohn Gallery, Los Angeles, Sept 18-Nov 1, 2008.

Paul Sietsema MFA '99 was featured in an article by Suzanne Muchnic in the LA Times on May 21, 2008. An exhibition of his new work was on view at SFMOMA, Mar 28-June 22.

Works by Paul Sietsema MFA '99 were included in Progress at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, which is on view through Nov 30, 2008.

Steven Calzada BA '00 teaches art at Palmdale High, where he has been head of the art department for the last four years. He received his Master in Teaching from Chapman University in Orange.

Micol Hebron MFA '00, BA '95, and Carolyn Castaño MFA '01 had work in LAAGAFBLA08, the LA Art Girls Art Fair Biennale, in Downtown Los Angeles, July 10-Aug 23, 2008.

Micol Hebron MFA '00, BA '95 co-curated (with Kim Schoenstadt and the artist collective Nüans in Düsseldorf, Germany) the exhibition, Documental: Contemporary Video Art from Europe, a video exchange project between Los Angeles and German artists, at the Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University, Orange, CA, Sept 2-Oct 6, 2008.

Mungo Thomson's '00 exhibition Einstein #1 was at Margo Leavin Gallery, Los Angeles, Mar 29-April 26, 2008.

Works by Mungo Thomson MFA '00 and Kerry Tribe MFA '02 were featured in The Cinema Effect: Illusion, Reality and the Moving Image at the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC through Sept 7, 2008.

Mungo Thomson MFA '00 is participating in the 8th Panama Art BiennialThe Sweet Burnt Smell of History, Sept 9-Oct 21, 2008.

Carolyn Castaño MFA '01 had an exhibition, VIDEOworks, featuring several videos and new mixed-media paintings at SB London (3740 Sunset Blvd, Silver Lake, CA) May 3-June 21, 2008. She also had work featured in LACMA’s exhibition Phantom Sightings: Art after the Chicano Movement (April 6-Sept 1, 2008).

Paul Cherwick MFA '01, Jon Pylypchuk MFA '01, and Annie Lapin MFA '07 had work in The Unruly and the Humorous, a group exhibition at Angles Gallery, Santa Monica, CA, Sept 13-Oct 11, 2008.

Anne Collier MFA '01 had a solo exhibition at the Bonner Kunstverein, Germany, June 16-Aug 17, 2008. An accompanying artist’s book will also be published. Earlier in the year, Collier was invited to give solo exhibitions at Presentation House Gallery in Vancouver, BC and at Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool.

Erin Cosgrove MFA '01 was awarded a City of Los Angeles (C.O.L.A.) 2008 Individual Artist Fellowship from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. An exhibition of new artwork by the C.O.L.A. Fellows was on view May 16-July 13, 2008 at the Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park.

Erin Cosgrove '01 and Kianga Ford '03 were among the 52 film/video and visual artists awarded grants from Creative Capital for 2008.

Rachel Mason's '01 solo exhibition The Candidate was on view at Circus Gallery, Los Angeles, Jan 12-Feb 16, 2008.

Tanya Batura MFA '03 had ceramic works in Sculpture: Part One, a 4-person exhibition at Western Project in Culver City, May 28-June 18, 2008.

Lorenzo Hurtado BA '03 had work in a group exhibition, Rebel Legacy–The Abstract in Latino Art, curated by Kathy Gallegos, June 12-July 31, 2008 at Pharmaka in downtown Los Angeles.

Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir MFA '04 and Daniel Björnsson had an exhibition entitled, grand theft auto, at Torstrasse 111, Berlin, June 3-22, 2008.

Michelle Mary Lee BA '04 has a solo show of 15 paintings at eat. on sunset, in Hollywood, CA. She is pursuing her doctoral studies at USC and teaching visual arts at Marymount High School.

David Thorne MFA '04 with Julia Meltzer for the Speculative Archive, were among five artists and artists groups selected for the 4th International Nam June Paik Award donated by the Kunststiftung NRW (Arts Foundation North-Rhine Westphalia), Düsseldorf. The works selected for the award will be exhibited in the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum & Fondation Corboud in Cologne, Germany, Sept 26-Nov 16, 2008.

Joshua Callaghan MFA '05 had a season opening solo exhibition at Haas & Fischer in Zurich, Switzerland, Aug. 28-Oct 4, 2008.

Kerianne Connor BA '05 exhibited at DAC Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles (Sept 2-Oct 10, 2008). Her work was also on view at Satsuma Gallery in North Hollywood, CA.

Amir H. Fallah MFA '05 has a site specific installation, Post Stagecraft, at Redux Contemporary Art Center in Charleston, South Carolina, Sept 5-Oct 18, 2008. He will also be participating in the 40th Anniversary Art on Paper 2008 exhibition at the Weatherspoon Museum of Arts, Greensboro, NC, Oct 19, 2008-Jan 25, 2009.

Shana Lutker MFA '05 had a solo exhibition of works entitled, The Commiffioners, at Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects, May 10-June 14, 2008.

Matthew Thompson MFA '05 curated Psychogeometry, a group exhibition at Monte Vista, Los Angeles (Sept 27-Oct 25, 2008), which includes work by David Hatcher MFA '06.

Jenny Yurshansky BA '05, and Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen curated Unclassifiable, an exhibition of video work crossing the boundaries of video art, cinema, the documentary, and pop-culture, at Overgaden, Institute of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen, Denmark, May 13-18, 2008.

Brian Bress MFA '06 curated From Panic to Power!, a group exhibition at Angstrom Gallery in Los Angeles, June 14-July 19, 2008. The show also included work by Kate Barclay BA '04.

Karen Liebowitz MFA '06 had a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings at Rosamund Felsen Gallery, Santa Monica, from Jan 5 to Feb 9, 2008, entitled Leviathan (from The Manifesting Prophecy Series).
